Homeschooling in High School:
Is It Even Possible?

Shandra Emrich
HIGH SCHOOL

It can be daunting to consider homeschooling your student at a time when they reveal a new found belief in their own omniscience and you don’t remember algebra and chemistry. We may doubt whether we can do it or wonder if it’s even a good idea. It’s not as hard as you might think! From transcripts to socialization, we will cover many practical aspects of homeschooling your student through high school Come find out what resources are available to help you, where you can find them, and why it’s worth it!

A Catholic Thought:
The Goal of Education
Despite Learning Difficulties

Margaret Walsh
SPECIAL NEEDS

Learning doesn’t come easy to all. It can be a struggle and lead some students on a different journey. However, despite the path taken, there is always one goal to learning, coming to know God! Today, the message we always hear is that students need to be proficient in their grades and subjects. But is knowledge for the sake of knowledge our true end? We will explore what it means to view learning struggles in a Catholic light, which should shine like a candle in the darkness of modern thought.

Identifying & Correcting
Blocked Learning Gates

Pamela Gates
Dianne Craft Learning System
SPECIAL NEEDS

This is for your “puzzling child.” Is it a maturity issue, or is something else going on? If you have a bright, hardworking child who has to work too hard to learn, he is telling you that one or more of his Four Learning Gates is blocked. Find out specifically how the brain processes information, and where that processing can break down. Learn how to be your own diagnostician using a checklist of symptoms. Then learn the necessary interventions. It doesn’t have to be so hard for your child!

Session 4 ~ 2:30 – 3:30

Made This Way

Leila Miller
HIGH SCHOOL

A generation ago, Christian parents didn’t have to worry about how to explain transgenderism to their 9-year-old or help their teenager deal with mockery at school for believing in traditional marriage. But today, we have no choice but to equip our kids to understand and to own the truth about such issues. It’s not easy though. These are sensitive topics and the wrong approach an harm our kids’ innocence even as we try to preserve it.

Teaching the
Right Brain Child
